About PolohAlo

Originally titled Electrovisation (Electronic Improvisation), the first stages of PolohAlo were devised in 2003 and 2004 using an old edition of Fruityloops.

PolohAlo is essentially a one man project, though occasionally help is needed by people who have the technology to record the music properly. The whole idea of using Fruityloops is to make up for the lack of any other like minded musicians. Fruityloops acts as the drummer, bass player and other little programming extras that make the music a tad more interesting. The good thing about it is its entirely possible to translate the music into a full live band.

However, simply using the programme felt like cheating, so I decided that I should begin to play real instruments and write words. At the end of 2007, the promise of a gig galvanised PolohAlo into action and over 6 months several songs were created using Fruityloops to create the backing tracks however with bass guitar, electric guitar and a 1989 Yamaha SY35 Synthesiser.

The songs themselves are a fusion of electronic and folk rock. The words to the songs hope to hold meaning to everyone in some way or another. They aim to be amusing, and uplifting and try to create a different perspective on all those things life tends to throw at people.

The gig went OK.
